Tijuana Mexico

There are a lot of great restaurants in Tijuana, but here are some of the things you can do, eat, enjoy and be stunned by here. One of my favorite places in Tijuana is El Cajon, one of Mexico's most popular tourist destinations. Located on the border between Mexico and the USA in the city of San Diego, this place is a paradise for adrenaline junkies.

More than 300,000 people cross the US-Mexico border every day, as well as Tijuana and Baja - bound travelers are served by a variety of restaurants, bars, hotels, restaurants and other attractions. Mexican car insurance is mandatory before crossing the border, so if you are traveling to Mexico alone without a car, you must pass through Mexico.

Pedestrians can only cross Tijuana at the San Ysidro crossing if they have a Mexican visitor permit. Guests travelling by land and staying for more than 72 hours or planning to cross ashore must obtain a tourist permit before travelling. If your trip lasts 7 days or less, you must present your passport prior to the trip and present it to the Customs and Border Protection Bureau (CBP) in San Diego.

If you cross the Baja-San Diego border back and forth, you will need a valid passport, valid driver's license and valid US passport. For the most recent border crossings, check the waiting times at the Tijuana border crossing at the San Ysidro and Tecate border crossings for most dates and crossings.

The Baja Tourist Office has more information about Tijuana, Mexico and its attractions on its website. For more sights and activities in Taja, check out the DBTC blog for stories about it, and for more travel tips and other information about other places in the city, it's best to check it out.

Tijuana experienced its first major growth phase in the late 1990s and early 2000s, when Americans came to Tijuana to gamble and drink legally. That changed when drug-related violence hit hard and the once-bustling streets of Taja emptied of American tourists. They no longer believed they were safe, so the Tasting Room was their first stop on their trip to Mexico and one of Mexico's most popular tourist attractions.

Non-essential businesses have been forced to close, including restaurants, bars, and hotels in the larger cities where Tijuana is the largest, such as Ciudad Juarez.

The city, which relies on tourism as a major economic source, has suffered since 2007, when Americans began to fear coming to Tijuana because of stories of violence. Mexican Consul Carlos Gonzalez Gutierrez responded: "There are Mexican nationals crossing the border in large numbers to seek healthcare, and we are only searching for US citizens living in Mexico. The Mexican government is doing nothing to provide medical examinations for people who come to the US. Residents have blocked crossings in Arizona with their vehicles because they fear a pandemic that would overwhelm Mexico's health system. After crossing the Mexican-American border for a week and claiming asylum, he witnessed an avalanche of human misery.

Tijuana and other Mexican border cities are concerned about diseases coming from the other direction, such as hepatitis A, hepatitis B and hepatitis C and tuberculosis.

Baja California Governor Jaime Bonilla said last month that doctors working for state and federal systems would be dropped off in Tijuana. He said the high number of murders in Tijuana had put his state second in Mexico in 2019. In 2016, according to the latest data from the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Diego had the second highest homicide rate in the country, behind Acapulco, Mexico, which came in second place with a homicide rate of 1.5 murders per 100,000 people. The city bordering San Diego has about 2.2 million residents, more than three times the population of Los Angeles.

Tijuana is considered an important industrial and financial center of the country and is one of the fastest growing cities in Mexico with a population of more than 1.5 million people. Mexican government statistics showed that Tijuana, the second most populous city in Baja California state, recorded a record number of murders in 2018. It topped the list, outpacing all other communities in the country by hundreds of murders. It is the third largest city with the highest murder rate (19% of all Mexico), behind San Diego and Mexico City.

There is an element of organised crime, but it is also a city that often deals with things from drunken gringos on the cheap to drug dealers and drug cartels.

In other Mexican cities, Muslim travelers can visit some mosques in Tijuana. Mosques in Tijuana include the Masjid Al-Islam mosque on Paseo Playas de Taja 3470 and the MasJid Omar mosque at the intersection of Paseso de los Puebla and Playa del Norte in the city center.
